Buildings and Contents Insurance Buying Tips
Buildings cover with accidental damage policy should include any accidental breakages of glass, ceramic hobs or sanitary ware that is fixed or part of your property. Exclusions on the policy may arise if the breakage happened when you where away from the home. Check the terms and conditions first to see what indeed is covered for this area.
Accidental damage to contents insurance – Cover is issued for jewellery, watches, clocks, art, medals and stamps and claims can be made up to £2,000. Specific items on the policy can be claimed for up to £15,000. Single items not on the policy are up to £5,000. Spectacles can claim up to £250. All receipts must be shown for prove of value before a successful claim can be made. In most cases you’ll also have to pay the excess show on the policy too.
